All of my pieces are made with a lot of love, and I have enjoyed making each and every one! No animals have been harmed for my work.

Hello Everyone,

I’m Madi!

Taxidermy has always fascinated me. I especially love the anthropomorphic aspect, and bringing the creatures back to life in a whimsical and animated way. After spending a few years travelling and studying tourism, I took a mouse workshop in England and my love for the art grew even more.

I am now home in Kamloops, BC, and am having a fabulous time creating these pieces. I always enjoy seeing and hearing the reactions off those who receive their taxidermy art! I love making custom orders – they become so personalized for the receiver, from the props to the clothes! There is a wonderful world of miniatures out there and anything is possible.

Mad Mad Creations

These are the pieces I have made and that are currently in stock. I love when I come across new miniatures and props that I can use in these pieces.

A little bit about my taxidermy process: Are you sure you want to know?! Once the pelt has been washed and cleaned begins the creating process! I make the body myself with wire, rafia and cotton, and the head with clay. I make the body shape according to what the rat will be doing in the scene. Once the ears have set then comes the fun with the props and dressing them up.

These taxidermy displays are a unique, fun, and personal gift! The christmas decoration rats were a great and fun idea from a customer. Contact me for a quote on a custom order, I have loved all of the creative and fun ideas.

I have wall hanging wooden mounts and glass domes available.  If you would like your rat mounted on something else, please let me know. Larger rats are also available, as well as your choice of colour!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
These must be kept out of reach of cats and dogs!
WHERE DO MY RATS COME FROM?
The rats I use are frozen snake feeder food from local pet shops. The other animals I will be creating soon are also ethically sourced.
WHAT IS THE COST?
The pieces I make start at $90. Custom Orders will depend on what you would like to be included in your scene.
WHERE CAN I BUY THEM?
All pieces can be purchased through my etsy shop.I will also be posting when and where I will be at the artisan markets this coming summer season - watch the news section for updates!
CAN I HAVE ONE MAILED TO ME?
Yes! Each piece will be carefully wrapped before shipping.
